This class showed how hard it was for managers to make decisions among many people. Everyone must be on the same page and all of the support must demonstrate the same idea. The key ingredient for this decision making process was to have a good leader and this was demonstrated through Richard. He provided his leadership skills and asserted himself to make everyone agree on the issues. Each person's views had to be respected and taken into consideration because ultimately everyone had to agree and be on the same page in order for us to accomplish our goal. We had many different ideas written on the board and then we had a vote on what things we shoud keep.
We used two main ways of the decision making process - Compromise and Collaborating. Many of us compromised on certain issues such as extra credit. Some of us though 25 was too much and others thought 5 was too little. So we agreed on 10 points even though ultimately it was lowered down to 7. Collaborating was a big method that we had to use. We had multiple ideas coming from different people and all shared the same goal. We worked together to achieve that goal and were successful. I beleive we should have been broken down to groups and each group propose their plan. That would make things less chaotic and it would be more organized. This would save time and we would all agree much quicker.

You said we collaberated but we barely collaberated. Instead of working together we just kept going at eachother. Collaboration means to work with eachother and to come up with solutions together instead we were shutting those who disagreed up. We could've handled it in a much more organized way and we should've spent 5 minutes before we started throwing out ideas and organized ourselves. Hopefully we get another excercise like this because i can assure you that we will COLLABORATE the way we are supposed to.
I agree with vivek that we didnt collaborate, all we did was fight about one idea after the next. We didn't allow others to speak up and many people were rude. I wish that it was more organized as well. And i hope we do get another chance but i dont want our grades to be part of the proposal.
I can relate to your goals, because my goasl are similar. And I think you are already working hard to make goals to become reality and I hope you'll accomplish them in the time frame you set. Traveling is so much fun, I've been in Europe and Asia and I highly recommend it!
